WHAT IS MICROFIBER?
Microfiber towels have the lint free quality of a huck/ surgical towel, and are more absorbent than terry towels. These towels can be used on both the body and window of the car. Microfiber is a man-made material, made of 80% polyester, and 20% polymide. The polyester allows the microfiber to be effective for scrubbing and cleaning, while the polymide is the absorbing quick drying fiber.
What makes microfiber truly unique is its ability to clean without the use of chemicals. Windows can be cleaned without any glass cleaner. Unlike terry and huck towels, which can push or smear the dirt and water, the microfiber towel scoops, lifts, and traps the dirt. One square inch of microfiber contains 90,000 fibers, allowing the towel to hold up to seven times its weight. Microfiber towels also dry in 1/3 the time of ordinary towels.
Many car washes and detail centers have already begun to use microfiber towels instead of terry towels. The same towel can be used on the body, then immediately used on the window. The unique design of the microfiber traps the dirt instead of spreading it. Your line will not have to constantly reach for new towels, saving your company time and money in the long run. Although not necessary, some car wash managers choose to use a separate microfiber for the body and window so the towel can last even longer before having to switch to a new towel.
One of the major benefits of a microfiber towel, compared to the terry and huck/surgical towel, is that it can clean problem spots easily from the car, that normally take time to remove with an ordinary towel and cleaner. With a damp microfiber towel, you can remove tough spots, including bird excrement and bugs.
Microfiber towels also work well in the interior of the car. A dry microfiber towel is designed to attract dust, lifting it from the surface, and trapping it into the towel. Dust can easily be wiped off the dashboard, and will not resurface later.
Microfiber cloths are machine washable, and can be cleaned with ordinary soap or detergent. They can also be dried, or put in the extractor.
