How do your products differ from your competitors?

All materials coming into our warehouse are sorted and separated by grade, size, and quality. What you pay for is what you get from the top of the box to the bottom. Not only do we carry a full line of standard grease rags, but we specialize in providing our customers with premium wipers for any and all specialty purposes they may have. Our warehouse is stocked with hundreds of thousands of pounds of wipers so that we can provide our customers with the same product time and time again. We take extreme pride in our superior customer service and are dedicated to making our customers happy.

What products do you offer besides cloth wiping rags?

ERC stocks a full line of quality terry towels, in your choice of color, size, and thickness. ERC also stocks a complete line of paper and non-woven, from industrial strength wipers to light duty lab wipes. We also stock microfiber towels, microfiber mops, pre-saturated wipes for surfaces and hands, foam hand sanitizer, latex, nitrile, vinyl and NitriVite gloves, as well as spill control products such as pads, socks, pillows, booms, spill kits and restroom paper.

Do you launder the wiping rags you sell?

Unlike a rental service that launders wipers, we are a disposable wiping cloth company. When you purchase a product from us, you own that product. You do not have to sign a contract to use our products, and there is no risk that the wipers you receive were at some point used as a rag by another company. Feel free to contact us for more detailed information on wiper disposability.

Why should I choose a disposable wiper over a rented shop towel?

First, you have many more choices available to you when you purchase disposable wipers. ERC offers over 150 different types of absorbent wiping and polishing cloths, and durable paper wipers to meet your specifications. Second, when you rent, you have to enter a contract, which are usually associated with hefty charges should you break it. Third, rental towel laundries often impose hidden costs, including environmental and energy charges, loss charges, and weekly billings regardless of quantity used and returned. Also, many rented shop towels arrive with metal chips, chemicals, or other residues on them because you never get the same towels back.

How do I determine which wiper I need?

Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will gladly help you find the right wiper for your application, while staying in your price range. By answering a few simple questions, we can match the correct wiper for your particular application and environment.

What are the forms of payment?

We accept American Express, Mastercard, Visa, and Discover for immediate shipments. You may also send us a check in advance. Upon completion of a credit application, we will be happy to bill you for 100 pound orders or greater with terms of net 30 days. For your convenience we also accept ACH transfers and if you are ordering online we accept PayPal.

What are some tips on breaking in terry towels and controlling lint?

● Soak new towels in several gallons of water, along with a cup of ammonia, and leave overnight. Wash the next day with a cup of distilled vinegar and a cup of detergent. ● Fully dry the towels after the first few washings to collect the excess lint. Empty the lint trap after every load. ● Never use bleach. Bleach breaks down the cotton fibers, resulting in lint. ● Avoid washing old towels with new towels. ● Avoid washing window towels, detail towels and body towels together. ● Don't use fabric softener. ● Use hot water for the first few washings. It will help to break in the towels more quickly. If hot water is not available, bring the towels to a Laundromat or commercial laundry where they can be washed for a minimum of 8 minutes with a water temperature greater than 168 degrees. ● Use fresh water each laundry load, because reusing water will retain lint. ● Darker colors take longer to break in then lighter colors or white. ● Add 1 cup of distilled vinegar once a week. The vinegar will help to remove musty damp smells, and wax build up from the towel. ● By increasing the alkalinity of the water, you can also help to open the fibers and diminish the sizing during the break-in period.

What are some tips on caring for microfiber towels and mops?

● Use microfiber dry for polishing and dusting. Use slightly damp for cleaning. ● Wash in either cool water or warm water (approximately 105 degrees or less). ● Tumble dry low, air dry, or place in an extractor. Please make sure dryer has fully cooled off from previous load. ● ALWAYS wash colors separately. ● NEVER use bleach or fabric softener. ● NEVER iron. ● NEVER wash microfiber towels with other laundry, especially cotton terry towels. The lint from the other towels will stick to the microfiber and you will have a very hard time getting it off. To keep the wedges intact, it is best to wash microfibers in a full load to ensure less wear and tear.

What are the quantity discounts and pallet discounts?

Quantity discounts and pallet discounts are available on some products on ERC's shopping cart but are not reflected in the price you see online. If you are looking to place a larger order, please call an ERC Representative at 800-225-9473.

Why rent shop towels when I can save money by purchasing them?

At first glance, rented shop towels may appear to cost less than purchasing new shop towels, but this is often a misconception. Sure, rented shop towels might cost less up front but this is before all the hidden charges are added to your weekly or monthly bill. Rental towel laundries often impose multiple hidden rental fees including lost charges, environmental charges, energy charges, and weekly minimum billings regardless of the quantity that you use and return. Once all these hidden costs are added, the price of a rented shop towel often exceeds that of a new one that you purchase from ERC. Once you enter a shop towel rental contract it will be difficult to break without incurring a handful of cancellation charges. Besides cost, rented shop towels come with some other risks and concerns. Rented shop towels have been known to contain solvent residue, foreign objects including metal shavings left over from a previous user. You are not likely going to get your own towels back time and time again. In some industries this may not be as much of an issue. However, when it comes to manufacturing and industrial settings, it is not good to have unknown solvents and chemicals on the towel or to wipe parts or products that could be scratched when they are wiped.
