Position Summary:
The Customer Service Representative is the first point of contact for our customers, prospects and visitors, both in person and on the phone. Even though so much of today’s business communication is done through e-mail, fax and online, at ERC we consider direct person-to-person interaction a vital part of creating a positive experience for customers and prospects. We also believe that a friendly and knowledgeable person in this role helps to promote a positive environment for our employees and customers alike.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Lead person to answer in-coming phone calls
- Provide answers and guide new customers to the appropriate person or department
- Take orders over the phone and through email
- Provide shipment tracking for customers
- Work closely with ERC sales team: account representatives, account managers and business development specialists
- Handle customer returns and credits
- Support business development by working on bid requests, credit research, lead generation and database management
Experience, Education, Certifications and Licensures:
- 1-3 years’ experience as a receptionist or in customer support role
- Must be reliable, punctual, confident and have a friendly voice
- Strong communications skills, eye for detail, excellent listening skills and a positive attitude
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
